Aardman’s new film The Pirates! Band of Misfits is fun for the whole family!

Aardman Studios’ new movie, The Pirates! Band of Misfits based on Gideon Defoe’s book, The Pirates! opens Friday, April 27th. We had a sneak peak of the film during the recent TIFF Kids International Film Festival. This stop-motion animation film combines swashbuckling comedy with science. Family-friendly with themes of loyalty and friendship mixed with adventure and British humor. Lots of fun gags without the bathroom humor, drinking, or scantily clad women.

Aardman Studios‘ new movie, The Pirates! Band of Misfits based on Gideon Defoe’s book, The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists opens Friday, April 27th. We had a sneak peak of the film during the recent TIFF Kids International Film Festival. This stop-motion claymation film combines swashbuckling comedy with science. Family-friendly with themes of loyalty and friendship mixed with adventure and British humor. Lots of fun gags without the bathroom humor, drinking, or scantily clad women (Well, maybe one scantily clad woman but she’s not in the film that much.) Although rated PG, I think this film is appropriate for kids, ages 5 and up. A few scary parts but no more than your average Disney movie (like Sleeping Beauty or Beauty and The Beast) which are usually rated G.

Flick and Flack gave the film two thumbs up. Read their reviews here.
