After 4 years teaching English abroad, Rachel Chiartas and her family chose to settle in Providence. She is a native of Maryland, but truly feels at home here in Rhode Island. She is the mother of two young boys, a preschooler named Kai and a babe named Kade. Rachel is passionate about all things motherhood! Her love for birth, babies, and mothers led her to become a trained doula. She hopes to begin practicing doula work once her young babe is not so… well, attached! Rachel is a self-described environmentalist who loves being outdoors with her family, hiking, camping, or learning to garden. She recently became a Master Composter and Recycler through the URI Outreach Center and volunteers time working compost information booths at fairs and festivals around Rhode Island. In her free time she enjoys reading, writing, traveling, and cooking!
