I have been a stay at home mom to my two daughters and son for going on ten years. It's been an incredibly hard and rewarding journey that opened my eyes to a lot about myself and others. I enjoy free-lance writing, photography, community relations, events and social networking.

I want to make a difference in the world through my two dreams. One dream is to have a career in community relations to bring opportunities to under privileged children. The second is to open a community center for our most vulnerable youth.

I believe that community is family and that in order to make the world a better place for our own children we have to make it better for all children.

If I could change the world I would make sure every kid got the childhood they deserved.

Family Road Trip Vacation: Hershey Park PA

[ 2 ] August 8, 2013 |

I am a true believer of the saying that families that play together stay together and that’s why we try to make a family vacation happen every year. Having outgrown our annual trip to Santa’s Village and Storyland, I was on the look out for a new family destination. All of a sudden it hit me like a ton of chocolate: We chose Hersheypark, and got chocolate wasted!

I think I have maybe posted one or two photos on Instragram, ever.  I’m more of a Facebook gal.  But when the New England Aquarium posted their Instagra m photo contest to Facebook to celebrate World Oceans Day, I couldn’t resist the topic: Submit a picture that exemplified how your family “lived blue.”  I actually […]

It takes a village: Help children of incarcerated parents RISE above the cycle.

I am not a statistic. I should be one. I should be caught in the cycle of poverty, addiction and crime. Growing up I had an incarcerated father who struggled with alcoholism. I was raised by a single mother who became victim to the power of prescription pills. I felt voiceless. I felt alone and […]

A Day of Adventure on a Rhode Island Bike Path

A Day of Adventure on a Rhode Island Bike Path

[ 1 ] April 9, 2013 |

One of the ways my family enjoys the outdoors is to spend a day on a bike path. You don’t have to just ride one way and ride back. The bike paths connect us to many places to discover and beautiful sights to see. Rhode Island’s bike paths lead to parks, playgrounds, beaches, nature trails, downtown areas and carousels. The possibilities are many and the fun is mostly free.
