Grand Opening Celebration of Barrington Books’ Expanded Toy Department: Saturday, March 24, 2012

Barrington Books has been busy working on expanding its toy department. This newly renovated children’s area features magical murals painted by Hannon Artworks, and the addition of exciting new products from Lego and Playmobile, as well as other unique, hand-selected brands. Barrington Books, one of the few remaining (and thriving) independent book stores, is known far and wide for its knowledgeable, book-loving staff, vast selection of high-quality toys and gifts, fabulous storytime, as well as its vibrant community events.

A grand opening celebration will take place in the store this Saturday, March 24th, from 11:30am — 3:30pm, including musical entertainment, book signings contests and more!


  • 11:30 AM – 3:30 PM: Variety act and musical performances by singer/ songwriter Jay Brunelle
  • 12:00-2:00pm: Reading & Book Signing with Kara LaReau, author of MR. PRICKLES: A QUILL-FATED LOVE STORY and OTTO: THE BOY WHO LOVED CARS
  • 2:00pm: Lego Contest Winners Announced *

* Lego® Contest Details:  Calling all Lego-loving kids! Create a Lego design inspired by your favorite children’s book. Take a picture of your original design and ask your parents to help you upload it to Barrington Books’ Facebook page, along with your name, and the title of the book that inspired you! The winning design will be announced at our Grand Opening Event on Saturday, March 24! You MUST be in attendance to claim your prize of a $50 GIFT CERTIFICATE to Barrington Books!
