Facilitated by Paige Clausius-Parks, Senior Policy Analyst at RI Kids Count, this workshop will provide parents the information they need to understand how education is funded in Rhode Island, the Rhode Island state budget, the process for how the budget is created and approved, and the ways parents can influence the budget and legislative processes.

The workshop will include an overview of a few specific budget items, including funding for special education, English Language Learners and college and career readiness programs, that will help ensure that all students and particularly students of color and students from low-income families have access to the resources and supports they need to succeed.
