Mix it up with your kids!

The Mixing TablePreparing healthy meals for our family often takes a bit of planning. I like the idea of whipping up something delicious everyone will love at suppertime, but the reality is that our kids are picky eaters and our schedules are busy – making dinnertime a bit chaotic at times. The thought of pulling food out of the freezer that is made ahead of time with fresh ingredients sounds divine.

The Mixing Table is here to help! They take care of all of the menu planning, shopping, and preparation of the food before you arrive. They provide the kitchen along with the freshest ingredients. All you have to do is choose your dishes and mix them up! Select your menu ahead of time and how many meals you want to make. When you leave, you will have prepared meals for your freezer ready for you to heat and serve on those crazy nights you don’t have time to cook. And you don’t have to clean up the kitchen when you’re done!

Assembling a meal out of fresh ingredients with your kids is a terrific way to teach them about the food they eat. While cooking, kids learn about the different food groups and it’s fun for them to help transform the various ingredients into something edible and scrumptious!

Plan a cook-a-thon with your kids at the The Mixing Table’s special Kids Cooking Session on Wednesday, August 15. Every child who participates (must be at least 5 years old) will enjoy a yummy mixing treat and will receive a special take-home gift. This months special kids activity is pretzel making. Kids will roll dough into a pretzel shape, bake and then enjoy them with different dipping sauces. Space is limited so schedule your session today! Cost is $8 per child and includes a mixing activity, craft project, refreshments, and a kid’s cooking kit!
