Providence Children’s Museum’s capital campaign for new exhibits and building renovations is nearing its $1.5 million goal – but needs to raise another $200,000+ to meet the Kresge Challenge and receive $150,000 from the Kresge Foundation. Gifts and pledges of all sizes will help the Museum succeed. http://www.childrenmuseum.org/PWPlayPart.asp

20th Annual ” C HANGE CHARITIES & CandyCane ‘Exchanges’ ”

On the weekend of December 11th, 12th & 13th*, 2009, the JAYCEES will hold a TOLLROAD(S) at secure/safe, police-approved intersections, to ‘exchange’ cash donations for ‘CandyCanes’ as part of their 20th annual ” C HANGE C HARITIES” program. VOLUNTEERS can HELP with being Santa ELVES and giving approximately two(2) hours in shift time to solicit direct contributions, while providing candycane ‘exchanges’ with motorists at safety-protected, community- approved intersections in the Pawtuxt Valley / Arctic Village area.

Come help the JAYCEES assemble and distribute boxes of toys, games and appropriate gifts from toddlers to
teenagers as part of the Toys for Tots annual event.

From Jack Lancellotta: JAYCEE Holiday Help Fund & Change Charities. From November 18th – December 31st, 2009, the JAYCEES will be coordinating direct donations (i.e., monetary value, gift certificates & volunteers) for their ‘HOLIDAY HELP FUND’and CHANGE CHARITIES/CandyCane Exchange Programs , dedicated to circulating in-kind and financial assistance to area wide goodwill causes along with JAYCEE-chosen charities and related community development projects.

From Gayle Hargreaves: The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center is in need of donations to fill Holiday Baskets with food and gift items for struggling families in Newport County. The Center expects to help over 200 families this year over the holiday season.
