Each week campers will work with professional Teaching Theater Artists, engaging their imaginations through the world of drama and creative play. Audubon Summer Camp get kids, ages 3 to 15, outside exploring our local environment – fields, forests, ponds, streams and the coast of Narragansett Bay.  Each day is filled with hands-on activities, hikes, games, crafts and more. Audubon Camps are conveniently located at three of our wildlife refuges (Bristol, Seekonk, Smithfield). These sites offer campers the opportunity to explore a variety of protected wildlife habitats. It’s the perfect environment for adventure, exploration, learning, and loads of fun!

Camp instructors are experienced environmental educators with training in education and natural sciences. Each camp has a low camper to staff ratio: a maximum of 15 campers per 2 staff.

A typical day begins at 9:00 a.m. Once everyone settles in, it’s time to head outside for habitat explorations, wildlife studies, hikes, and nature games. Other parts of the day include arts and crafts, special projects, animal visits, and more!

Audubon is now offering an extended day option for busy parents. After camp care is available Monday through Friday from 3:00 to 5:30 pm at Audubon’s Smithfield and Bristol locations.  Simply select this option when registering your child for camp.

Community Boating Center (CBC) is a non-profit, 501c3 recreational organization offering all members of the community an opportunity to sail. Located in India Point Park, CBC provides outreach, sailing lessons and affordable access to the Providence waterfront. Moses Brown PLUS has been in the camp business for 50 years. We offer day camping featuring traditional recreation camps, chess camps, and several sports camps for children ages 3-17. All camps are held on the beautiful Moses Brown campus in Providence, and include a special mixture of arts, music, computers, science, chess, swimming, and sports.

RISE (ages 5-14), Preschool (ages 3-4), Summer’s End (ages 5-13), Chess (ages 5-14), Basketball (grades 4-8), Football (grades 5-8), Lacrosse (ages 7-15), Lacrosse Goalie (ages 8-17), Soccer (ages 4-16), Soccer Goalkeeping (ages 7-16), Tennis (ages 6-14), Track & Field (ages 7-16), Wrestling (grades 3-12). Preschool campers must be toilet trained. Sport camps are open to campers of all skill levels who will be grouped by age and skill level.

Our summer camp season runs from June 18 through August 10 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., with half-day and full-day options. PCD Art Exploration Camp 
This interactive day camp for children ages 4–11 combines studio arts and outdoor exploration. Students will be introduced to painting, drawing, and sculpture while they investigate and learn about the natural world. By combining these two disciplines, campers will discover art, nature, and creativity in the studios, the Da Vinci Nature Lab, and the woodlands on the PCD campus.

Serve it Up! Culinary Camp

Picture This: Digital Photography
In this hands-on photography camp for children ages 9-12 campers will use digital cameras and computers in PCD’s digital photo lab to create fantastic photographs that illustrate a fairy-tale, myth, or fable of their choosing.  We will explore narrative language—focusing on sequencing, pacing, symbolism, and the relationship between text and image. Through the use of camera trickery and digital effects, the magic of the story will come to life in our images, culminating in a narrative photo book.

Museum Youth Intensive for High School students
July 8-19, 10am-4pm.
This free 10-day intensive program at the RISD Museum of Art is for High School students interested in a full immersion into the museum, art, and creativity. Through a collaborative project-based two-weeks, students will examine works of art and design from across time and cultures, responding through art making, writing, and discussion.  Students will meet a variety of working artists, make studio visits and infuse their own creative practice with in-depth investigations. No art making experience is necessary. An interest in art, museums and creativity is a plus.

Program is open by application. There is no fee for tuition and all materials are provided. Eligible participants must be entering their freshmen, sophomore, junior or senior year of High School as of fall 2014 and commit to the full duration of the program. Application due June 1.

Summer Vacation Camps

RISD|CE’s full-day summer vacation camps offer children and teens ages 7-17 plenty of opportunities to explore the world of art and design. Led by outstanding visual artists, designers and educators, these camps journey into the artistic process where the emphasis is on thinking, designing, communicating and creating, providing a strong grounding in the visual arts and helping to foster each young artist’s creative, social and intellectual development.

In addition to camp programs, RISD|CE offers courses and family workshops for children and young adults ages 6-17, plus seven certificate programs for young adults ages 12-17. Parents can create a customized camp experience for their children by combining a morning class and an afternoon class and utilizing our Lunch Care option.Camps are located at our waterfront location at Tillinghast Farm, in Barrington, or on the RISD campus in Providence.

Roger Williams Park ZooCamp

In February, April and summer, these camps offer fun-filled days at the Zoo for kids from age 4 4 through 10. What a great opportunity for kids to learn to explore the natural world! One mom said “My son learned that learning can be fun again! He was engaged and excited to learn new things.” Our pricing is more affordable than many other child-care options. NEW in 2013: Conservation Hero summer camp for 11-13 year olds.

Restrictions /Age or Skill Requirements: Tadpole Academy (ages 4-5); ZooCamp (ages 6 – 10). Sessions/dates/times: Weekly summer sessions start Monday, June 17th and end Friday, August 23rd. Tadpole Academy features half day sessions, 8:30 – 11:30 am and 12:30 – 3:30 pm. ZooCamp runs 8:30 am – 3:30 pm. Arrangements can be made for early drop off and late pick up. Conservation Heros (ages 11-13) one week sessions start June 24th August 5th and August 12th.

Cost:  Prices range from $140 per week to $240 per week, with discounts for RWP Zoo members. A $10 sibling discount applies to all ZooCamps!  First registration will be at full price, $10 discount will be applied to each sibling thereafter (siblings must be registered within the same account).
