The 2011 Providence Children’s Film Festival is delighted to announce the Southern New England premiere of Eleanor’s Secret, a beautiful animated feature. When his old aunt dies and leaves 7 year-old Nathaniel her huge book collection, he discovers the books shelter all the heroes of children’s literature. Nathaniel finds he must brave everything to save his tiny friends from being destroyed forever.

No more “Sold Out Blues” for Providence Children’s Film Festival (PCFF) fans! Advanced online ticketing for the 2011 Providence Children’s Film Festival begins February 1. This year’s festival runs February 17-21, 2011. Seating is limited. Tickets for shows that have not sold out will be available at venue on day of show. Adult tickets are $7.50, children $5. Special thanks to the RISD Museum: ticketholders receive free admission to the museum on the weekend of the festival!

We will be posting some sneak peaks of our favorite films, special events and workshops in the weeks leading up to the festival. Hope to see you at the movies!

Making movies…at home.

I know there is much debate on how much media time is good for kids. I agree kids should have plenty of opportunities for play inside and out. They should have time to be bored, use their own imagination and create their own worlds. In our house media time means movies. So over vacation my boys were thrilled to use some of their free time out of school free of home work to indulge their passion. After receiving the Klutz Tricky Video book they decided to make their own film with sound effects.
