Children’s Book Review: IT’S A BOOK by Lane Smith
The Wall Street Journal included IT’S A BOOK by Lane Smith as a summer must read for kids. Although not due out until August I thought it very timely to our recent conversation about what it means to raise kids in a digital world.
The publisher says IT’S A BOOK is “playful and lighthearted with a subversive twist that is signature Lane Smith” and calls this book a “manifesto on behalf of print in the digital age.” The book’s beautiful full page illustrations with simple text is the story of two animals — a tech-obsessed donkey and a literary-minded monkey — and their dialogue around a rectangular object.

Thanks for sharing this. It sounds like a perfect book for our family.
Happy Hocky Family (and HHF Moves to the Country) are hilarious and are two all-time favorites. My Lane Smith experience ended there. I’ll get the others! Thank you.
