In 2012, the age of smart phones, tablets, readers and mp3 players – Providence Community Library wants you remind you that the ultimate hand-held device is your library card and it’s free!
During the week of February 20th, PCL will be holding a library card drive to increase patronage as much as possible! Patrons who owe late fees can have their fines wiped away by bringing in a canned good and new patrons will be able to enjoy the benefits of owning a PCL library card – the ability to check out (for free) books, movies, music from any library in the state, free computer and internet access, and so much more!
All nine PCL locations will also be hosting variety of fun attractions and events, including, but not limited to:
Storytelling from Len Cabral, Valerie Tutson and others from the RI Black Storytellers

Free book giveaways
Free food and refreshments
Raffle prizes
Raffle prizes will be drawn by Mayor Angel Taveras at the (library) on (date) at (time). First prize is an Amazon Kindle, second is a Nintendo Wii and third is a Flip Camera (or whatever).
