Family Matters: Best Halloween Events for Kids in Rhode Island

Kids love Halloween (and so do their parents), but it can be a bit tricky navigating all the events out there. We’re lucky here in Rhode Island some truly wonderful, family-friendly events that are not about being scary and only eating candy but are all about the costumes, pumpkins, parades, friends, and fun activities. Check out the 2012 Kidoonfo list of Halloween Happenings for Little Kids.

Note: Please call to confirm all events before heading out, since they are subject to change depending on attendance, weather, etc. For more events (more seem to be added daily!) check the Events Calendar and the Fall Guide at Kidoinfo. Need a costume or crafty projects? Check the Kidoinfo Halloween Guide for some DIY ideas.

  • The event pictured is, I think, the best of the best! (If it’s Mother Nature’s Halloween Hike.) We’ll always remember the hilarious opossum describing how she “soiled” herself in fear. Which is what opossums really do, I guess, but was so funny to hear from a grown woman in an opossum suit.
