ACT at St. Andrew’s (ACTSA)
Theater Arts Education
ACT @ St. Andrew’s (ACTSA) is a premier children’s theater offering comprehensive professional training in theater arts for all youth, grades K-12, in Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts. Classes are held year round at our home location, St. Andrew’s School in Barrington, as well as satellite locations throughout RI.
Led by professional Theater Teaching Artists, student ACTors build a foundation in acting technique, character creation, ensemble skills, play scripting, voice and diction, movement and improvisation. Each class is a unique experience in which students explore imagination and storytelling all in a creative, collaborative and supportive environment.
ALL ACTSA PROGRAMS ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
Classes, camps, residencies, workshops offered year round
The ACTSA Ensemble is the gem of ACT @ St. Andrew’s. As the performance arm of the company, ACTors have the opportunity to perform full-scale productions for public audiences at The McCulloch Center for the Arts in Barrington, RI as well as other venues.
Ensemble members continue to study acting and technical theater while also expanding their personal practice with challenging roles and dramaturgy. ACTors who have completed ACTSA classes for ages 8 & up or a 2-week summer theater camp are eligible to join. Experienced ACTors over age 12 who have not taken classes/camps are invited to audition.
