I taught a pop-up workshop at Kreatelier today. Although the kids could choose any theme for their card, several chose to make the White House in honor of Inauguration Day on January 20, 2009. Look how great how they came out!
Supplies:
cardstock paper
markers, gluestick, scissors
collage materials (old magazine, colored paper, tissue paper)
How-To:
Fold letter size card stock paper in half
Cut out the shape of the white and draw in details with marker
Decorate card with lawn and sky
Cut paper to create the pop-up mechanism. (see RobertSabuda.com for how-to)
Glue white house onto pop-up tab
Glue colored paper onto back of card to hide pop-up mechanism
We are in DC for the big event – lots of inauguration “stuff” for sale everywhere you go but nothing as appealing as your students pop-up cards. Brilliant.
these are great! ideas for no-school tomorrow.
awesome! you are inspiring. we just went sledding and then played wii games all afternoon. i need to fit more paper arts into my life.
