My kids go to a peanut- and tree nut-free school. My oldest can't have too much dairy, and my middle kid can't eat gluten. My oldest would live on pb&j, but of course he can't bring that to school. I kind of hate packing school lunches. We also pack zero-trash lunches. I kind of get sick of rinsing out containers, too.

(But I pack AND wash cheerfully! And with love! Of course I do!!!)

I'd like to offer 10% discount to those of you that mention that you read about the reusable sandwich and snack bags from Bag it conscious here at Kido.
Offer valid for sandw/snack bags only.
Good until 9/10/2010

Bonus: Wrap-N-Mat offers a fundraising program! We ran it as part of a Green Lunch program a few years ago and they were a hit. We sell in September every year now. It's an easy way to make a few $$ for your PTA that involves something you really NEED...

Oh Katy, I too have had lunch box on my mind. I was up at 2am with insomnia thinking about all the tomato soup I need to make. We are knee deep in making batches of tomato soup for the freezer. Put into a mason jar and freeze. I serve this in a thermos with rice crackers or a nice piece of bread, some cheese and cucumbers or olives, and a little something sweet!

The kids love Lara bars (fun flavors) and I am happy about the ingredients if I don't have time to make something myself.

I save little jars that I get mustards and jams in and I fill those with fun things such as ice tea in the summer, yogurt or fruit salad. It makes for an interesting presentation.
