Sesame Street turns 40!

Sesame Street first aired November 10, 1969 introducing us to a wonderful neighborhood—home to Bert, Ernie, Big Bird, Mr. Hooper, Maria and more. Sesame Street helped define children’s programing as a positive and creative place where kids can learn while tuning in, setting high standards for children’s shows that have followed since. I spent my childhood getting to know these characters and just like any neighborhood it has changed in 40 years—but even after all these years it’s comforting to know it’s still a wonderful place to visit. David Bianculli of NPR agrees, read what he says; Come And Play: ‘Sesame Street’ Celebrates 40 Years.
And in honor of this special anniversary, Michelle Obama drops by the neighborhood to talk about family gardens. What a great place to be. Now can you tell me how to get to Sesame Street?
