jobs a kid o infoKidoinfo is just over a year old and thanks to a growing number of contributors, my fabulous editor, Nancy King, and my tech husband, Douglas (who set up the site and handles many major tech-related issues after his day job is done and the kids are in bed), I have made Kidoinfo into a site for kids–and the people who raise, teach, and entertain them–that is full of local flavor and appeals to a national audience. As Kidoinfo continues to grow and (hopefully) becomes as important to some parents as their morning cup of coffee, so do the responsibilities to keep Kidoinfo up to date and running smoothly. I am looking for the right people to join the Kidoinfo family: a few summer interns and part-time sales associates. Email Anisa if you’re interested, or pass this on to someone you think would be!

INTERNS:

Communications Intern
Responsibilities: Assist in promoting and marketing the Kidoinfo website and brand, write basic copy, conduct research and fact-checking, maintain resource directory and community calendar, and create the weekly newsletter.
Ideal candidate: Web savvy, detail-oriented student who knows and loves kids and has a passion for the Rhode Island area. Highly motivated, super organized candidates are desired. Proficient in Microsoft office (especially MS Word) and familiarity with the blogosphere, discussion boards, etc., is helpful but not required.
Details: I will provide a weekly stipend in return for 6 – 10 hours of work per week. Flexible hours. Work remotely with occasional in-person meetings.

IT/Developer Intern
Responsibilities: Assist in updating website with additional Content Management System features.
Ideal candidate: Must have experience in CSS, WordPress, or similar Content Management System (CMS). Must be super organized, motivated, and detail-oriented. Candidate who loves kids and has knowledge about the local Rhode Island area is a plus.
Details: Time needed for this position will be determined by the particular project(s). Stipend provided. Flexible hours. Work remotely with occasional in-person meetings.

Apply: For either of these intern positions, email anisa (at) kidoinfo (dot) com with your resume and a brief explanation as to why you’d be a good fit for the Kidoinfo family. Please remember to specify which internship you’re applying for in your application.

PART-TIME SALES ASSOCIATES:

Responsibilities: Reach out to the vast Kidoinfo list of family-related businesses and services to promote their business and service to our growing number of Kidoinfo readers.
Ideal candidate: Highly organized, self-motivated individual who is a parent and/or knows and loves kids and has knowledge about the local Rhode Island area. Best candidate will possess excellent communication skills and sales experience and be super organized. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially MS Word) and familiarity with the blogosphere, discussion boards, etc., is helpful but not required. Must have own computer and Internet access.
Details: Flexible hours (great for parents). Commission-based salary.
