Louis Sachar’s STORIES FROM WAYSIDE SCHOOL are wonderful. We’ve been listening to the author read them on CD and staring at the ceiling in an air conditioned room for several afternoons now.
Ditto the GOONEY BIRD GREENE series. Both of these series take place in schools and are great for first through third graders and 38 year olds.
Great list Anisa!
🙂
We’ve also really been enjoying “The Kissing Hand” by Audrey Penn, which focuses on feelings about separation from parents/loved ones and Carl Goes to Daycare by Alexandra Day. (My kids are younger and “school” for us will be playschool/daycare).
