Choices: You Make ’em You Own ’em: The Jerry Tillinghast Story Authors Book Signing @ Barrington Books Garden City
Dec 19 @ 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Join us for a book signing with Joe Broadmeadow and Jerry Tillinghast for Choices: You Make ’em You Own ’em: The Jerry Tillinghast Story. In a remarkably personal and intimate story, Jerry Tillinghast talks about his life and the choices he made.Battling alongside his brothers on the streets of Providence. Enlisting in the United States Marine Corps, fighting in Vietnam, and becoming a victim of the politics of that war. Returning to Providence as an angry young man and his choice to hang with the wise guys. The cost of his reputation as a “feared mob enforcer” and the effect on his family. Meeting Raymond L.S. Patriarca, the notorious head of New England Organized Crime family, and how he came to embrace him as a father figure. He reveals the inside story of the two of the most infamous cases in Rhode Island history; Bonded Vault and the George Basmajian Homicide.

Jerry was found not guilty after the Bonded Vault trial, but his luck ran out with theBasmajian murder. Convicted with Jerry was his brother, Harold Tillinghast. Since the moment of their arrest, Jerry has said just one thing.
Harold wasn’t in the car. Jerry Tillinghast, a featured character on the Crimetown podcast, one of the most downloaded podcasts in the world, tells his life story with honesty and emotion. Setting the record straight after forty years of silence.Silent no more…
Joe Broadmeadow retired with the rank of Captain from the East Providence, Rhode Island Police Department after twenty years. Assigned to various divisions within the department including Commander of Investigative Services, he also worked in the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force and on special assignment to the FBI Drug Task Force.

Jan 23 @ 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Do you care about building a sustainable future? Are you passionate about making our food system more environmentally friendly? Come to our kickoff meeting to learn more!
The meat industry is a leading cause of water pollution, deforestation and climate change. To build a food system that works better for people and our planet, the companies that produce our food need to be held accountable. With a new meat processing plant being built here in Rhode Island, now is the time to stand up for the sustainable food future we want to see for our state. Join other concerned community members at our kick off event to learn more about the issue, share and discuss ideas, and find out how to get involved. Free and open to everyone – bring your friends! RSVP on Facebook or to phoebe@greencorps.org

Olympic Medalist & Rhode Island Native Elizabeth Beisel Book Launch: Talk & Book Signing @ Barrington Books Garden City
Feb 26 @ 6:00 pm

Join us a this special book launch event with Olympic medalist, author and Rhode Island native, Elizabeth Beisel for her new book Silver Lining. This is a ticketed event. Please call 401-432-7222 for your ticket.

I’m an ordinary person who’s accomplished extraordinary things. From a small-town girl watching the Olympic Games in my living room, to competing at three Olympic Games for the United States, Silver Lining dives deep into the journey towards achieving my dreams. I open up about the failures and doubts I experienced as an athlete just as much as the successes and certainties. I hope my story inspires you to pursue your own dreams, no matter who you are.

“Silver Lining is a story of amazing perseverance of one of the greatest leaders in our sports history. As much of a champion s she was in the pool, Elizabeth continues to be an even greater champion outside of the pool through her grace, humility, and dedication.” – Rowdy Gaines, Three-time Olympic gold medalist, NBC Olympic Analyst“

Silver Lining tells the compelling story of a spirited, energetic, honest, and extremely talented athlete and human, Elizabeth Beisel. You will be inspired, and also discover why Elizabeth is one of the most respected athletes ever to grace a pool deck for Team USA.”- Katie Ledecky, Five-time Olympic gold medalist, World Record Holder“Elizabeth wonderfully captures what it means to be an elite athlete. Her story shows the good, the bad, and the ugly that the general public doesn’t see what most Olympic athletes go through.” – Caeleb Dressel, Two-time Olympic gold medalist, World Record Holder

Elizabeth Beisel is a three-time Olympic swimmer and two-time Olympic medalist for the United States of America.

This is a ticketed event. To reserve your ticket, call 401-432-7222.
