The Assumption Greek Church Annual Festival will transform the parish grounds into a virtual Greek Village – and invites EVERYONE to join in their Glendi (Greek Village Festival). This is a time when the parish showcases their Greek Heritage, Culture, and Greek Orthodoxy as we commemorate the Feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.

Featuring:
– Greek Cuisine
Dine on authentic Greek cuisine such as Roast Lamb, Baked Lamb Shank, Gyros, Chicken and Pork Souvlaki, Tiropita, Pastitsio, Spanakopita, Stuffed Grape Leaves, Moussaka & more

Dance Performances: Our renowned Greek Pride Dance Troupe will perform traditional Greek dances throughout the Festival!
Friday at 7:00 pm.
Saturday at 4:00 and 7:00 pm
Sunday at 4:00 pm. and 7:00 pm.

All in full ethnic attire representing the various regions of Greece. Dance! Join us as our Dancers guide us all through the traditional dances to live music.

Greek Pastries (Indulge!)
An array of Greek pastries & specialties, baked by the ladies of the Philoptochos Society
– Greek Rice Pudding, Kourambiedes, Finikia, Kouloulakia, Baklava, Galactoboureko. The ladies always add a few surprises!

Kafenio (Café)
Enjoy aromatic Greek Coffee accompanied by Paximadia (biscotti), and our specialty, Baklava Cheesecake. Sip a glass of Ouzo, Mavrodaphne, Metaxa or Mastiha

Cooking with Fillo Demonstration: Ladies from the parish will demonstrate the techniques of baking with fillo. Learn the secrets of Greek Baklava, Spanakopeta , etc.

Greek Indoor/Outdoor Marketplace (Agora): Booths brimming with Greek imported merchandise – Blouses, shirts, sweaters; jewelry, giftware, religious items, scarves, hats, perfumes, and other interesting items that ‘sail into port.’ In addition, local R I artists will display their many artistic and creative talents.
