Join us online to celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by surrounding yourself with art, culture and community. Our virtual event will be held in partnership with Citizens, which has sponsored the MFA’s annual community celebration for 19 consecutive years.
The celebration will stream on our Facebook, YouTube and on mfa.org at 5 pm on January 18. The program, titled “Voices on King,” will bring together nonprofit, corporate and community leaders to share their personal reflections on the current impact and lasting legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Mrs. Coretta Scott King. The event will also feature a musical performance by Danny Rivera and an original poem by poet Porsha Olayiwola.
We want to see how you’re celebrating MLK Day! Participate in our virtual photo booth courtesy of Citizens: www.citizensmemories.com/mlkday
Using the materials you have on hand, show us how Dr. King’s legacy inspires you. Whether it’s through a drawing, photograph or mixed media, post your creation in the event comments or using #mfaMLKDay on Instagram and Twitter!
