Back by popular demand, The Three Little Pigs makes its highly anticipated return this March. The family-forward ballet brings together a medley of different dance styles, colorful costumes, and a custom-made set to create the storybook world of this time-honored tale. Accompanied by Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony, the show is an exciting blend of movement and wit, as one little pig outsmarts the wolf with the help of her barnyard friends, brick by brick.
Pigs choreographer and former FBP Company Louisa Mejeur said, “Everyone loves this classic story. In this version, I’ve added a few twists to spark imaginations and bring this tale into the 21st century.” She added, “Audiences should look out for our hungry, powerful, and protective Mother Wolf!”
FBP Artistic Director Mihailo “Misha” Djuric enjoys giving dancers the opportunity to choreograph for the Company. Mejuer’s first ballet, Living Room Vignettes, debuted at FBP in 2013 and her works since then have been performed across the country, including at the renowned Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival in the Berkshires, MA. Providence audiences are certainly celebrating her talent- The Three Little Pigs completely sold out last season, with some audience members even returning to see alternate casts of company dancers perform different roles in the ballet.
Complete with straw, sticks, bricks, pigs, sheep, poultry, and a family of wolves, FBP’s The Three Little Pigs is the energetic story you know and love, plus so much more! Don’t miss this fast-paced fairytale come to life, March 14-22 at the Black Box Theatre!
