Grades 7-12: Gothic Poetry & Flash Fiction Class – Free

School One’s new Gothic writing class, in partnership with the Providence Athenaeum, starts in March for students in grades 7-12. In this special four-week class, students will write Gothic-themed poems or short flash fiction.

The class also includes a visit to the Athenaeum to view the Edgar Allan Poe exhibit, and students are invited to read their original poems or stories at The Gothic POEtry and Arts Night at the Providence Athenaeum on Thursday, April 11th.

The instructors for this class are Maryann Ullmann and Eve Kerrigan.

  • When: Wednesdays, 3:30 p.m.-5:00 p.m. Classes meet March 20th, 27th, April 3rd, and April 10th.

Creative Nonfiction: Writing About Home

If you’ve ever thought, “I have a story to tell,” then this is the adult class for you!

This small group meets weekly and will focus on writing about home and a sense of place. Expect to read examples of nonfiction and memoir and write your own. This class meets Thursday, 4:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m.
