I launched Kidoinfo in 2007 to connect parents with information; to their kids, to other parents, to their community. As a new parent I wanted to learn about what was available in terms of events, ideas, coping strategies, and resources, and I wanted a way to share this information with others.
What started as a simple blog has evolved into a gathering space for parents, caregivers and educators online and off. Kidoinfo now has over twenty contributing writers, shares my Weekend Picks of family friendly events every Thursday, hosts local conversations, and sponsors local events I love.
As Kidoinfo continues to grow it has been a challenge to find a place for it all. Time to remodel. I have redesigned the site with the tech help of my husband, Douglas Itkin and WordPress guru Chris Abernethy. The redesign makes it easier to access contributing writers by name, better organize old articles, highlight daily local events on the home page and help you connect to Kidoinfo on Flckr, Twitter, Facebook and other social media sites.
I hope you like it and find it easier to locate what you’re looking for. As with any redesign, I still have changes I want to make and some things may have broken along the way.
Let me know if you find any problems and I would love to hear what you think of Kidoinfo’s new look.
Happy New Year!
