Kidoinfo Resource Directory

We’re excited to announce the updated Kidoinfo Resource Directory. Now you can Search, Rate and Review. And we invite you to suggest your favorites as well.

Kido-Square-Resource-Guide-1Check it out at: www.kidoinfo.com/resources/

As a mom, I’m always craving more information about everything for kids. Like other parents, I often get recommendations for camps while at the park, and piano classes while picking my kids up from school. Keeping track of all this information in my head or on post-it notes, let alone sharing it all with other parents hasn’t been so simple.

And I know our Kidoinfo readers have plenty of opinions and experiences, so we have transformed our original resource web pages (just lists) into a place where parents can share information easily. This is not another yellow pages or a list created by a robot that doesn’t know that Rhode Island isn’t an island. We made our list local, relevant and searchable with a place for reviews from you, the people who use these businesses and services.

We know the list doesn’t include everything for kids. But we did manage to collect over 500 listings so far. We put them in the following categories: Camps, Childcare, Classes (Art, Baby, Dance Drama, Fitness, Language, Music, Nature), Entertainment, Fairs and Festivals, Family Services, Farms / Orchards, Food and Restaurants, Groups-Support, Groups-Mom Kids, Healthcare, Libraries, Museums, Nature Center. Parks Playgrounds, Pools / Waterparks, Party (People, Places, Supplies), Prenatal-Baby, Schools (Private, Public, Other, Preschool), Services (Hair Salons, Photographers, etc.) Shopping, Sports (Ice Skating, Teams, Events), Wellness and Zoo / Aquarium. We feature a rotating selection of resources on the first page.

Check it out, bookmark it, search it, and share it with you friends. And now we need you to tell us what you know – by rating, reviewing and suggesting more resources.

The Details:

How to Rate: Just click on the stars to vote (one being the worst to five being the best). That’s all there is to do – the website displays average ratings.

How to Review: Click on “reviews” and start writing. Think about what other parents would find useful… Is it stroller accessible? Is there a place to change a diaper or get snacks? Where to park? Are the bathrooms clean? Is there a place for parents to sit while their kids take a class? Did the restaurant have highchairs or crayons? Does your librarian know everything? We’d like to know your raves and the rants, but if you’ve had a negative experience, please be constructive. The same rules apply that we teach our children; choose words that are helpful not hurtful.

How to Suggest a Resource: Want to add a listing for your (or someone else’s) family-related business/service? Click here to fill out form.

How to Update a Resource: If your business or service already listed, please verify that the information is accurate and up-to-date. Check address, phone, websites, description and the categories assigned. If you need to make any changes, please fill out form here and check “update existing listing”.
