The French-American School of Rhode Island (FASRI) is a unique educational alternative for Preschool through 8th grade, expanding young minds at twice the speed of language. Our French immersion program runs from Preschool through Kindergarten, and the dual language French and American program from grades 1 through 8. FASRI welcomes non-French speaking children up to and including Kindergarten.

We are a multicultural/multilingual family, but none of us is French. I chose FASRI initially because I wanted my daughter to attend school in an international environment, where she would learn to become a good world citizen. After almost two years, we are staying because of the outstanding quality of education that FASRI offers The teachers are wonderful, with a great educational and professional background and lots of class. And yes, my daughter now speaks French. When also considering price, FASRI is simply the best deal in town all around. You get all that the other (more expensive) schools offer at half price and, on top of that, your child learns another language — something that is now fully acknowledged to make our (already smart) children even smarter!(see http://www.nytimes.com/2012/03/18/opinion/sunday/the-benefits-of-bilingualism.html?src=me&ref=general)

As an FASRI alumni parent of a high school sophomore, I am delighted with the level of education my son received at FASRI. His strengths are in history and English, and a dual language education such as FASRI’s definitely has enhanced and strengthened his skills. The contrast of cultures through curriculum, content, teachers, and community has contributed to who he is today as a young man, interested in the world around him and armed with critical thinking skills. He is also taking a new language in high school: because of his bilingual experience, it is much easier for him to tackle a fourth language (FASRI teaches Spanish in G6-8). I strongly recommend FASRI to all who would like their children to experience an international education and all its benefits. As a graduate of a French school myself, I can vouch for this!
