Does your teen love movies? 

Now they can learn about films and film making, meet filmmakers, actors, industry professionals, and watch a wide variety of films.   

Flickers’, Rhode Island’s International Film Festival, seeks students from local high schools and area colleges to participate in its 2018 Youth Film Jury Program, a mentored learning environment. Applications are due by Saturday, June 23, 2018.

The 22nd annual Film Festival starts August 7, 2018. This week-long celebration of independent cinema and film arts is New England’s largest film festival that is accredited by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as a qualifier for Oscar® in the Live Action, Documentary, and Animated Short categories.

Accepted applicants to the Youth Film Jury will have the opportunity to view a wide variety of films that they may not have otherwise had the chance to see, meet other film lovers from around the world, attend special screenings, world and US. premieres, and more.  

Participants in the Jury receive all-access passes to the Festival. Participation in this program stand outs on college applications and resumes and provides the opportunity to network and make connections to aid future endeavors in the film world.

The Rhode Island International Film Festival in Providence is one of only 10 Festivals in the United States accredited by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA). It is also a qualifier for the Canadian Screen Awards (Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television).
