What do you name a newborn that measured nearly six feet tall and weighed in at between 125 and 140 pounds at birth? On May 5th, Roger Williams Park Zoo welcomed a new baby boy giraffe. The mother is Sukari and the father is Griffin.

Roger Williams Park Zoo invites you to help name this new lanky bundle of joy. Now through June 8, you can submit your suggestion in the giraffe calf naming contest. They will select a name from among the entries and announce the winner at the zoo on Father’s Day, June 17.

The winner is invited to participate in the announcement and will also receive a family membership to the zoo, a framed photo of the calf and a “Meet the Keeper” experience!
