Summer art camp offerings include eight week-long camps in a variety of themes, from “Green Week,” where participants will make all of their art using recycled materials, to “Fantasy and Fairytales,” where crafts will focus on creating fantastical creatures and worlds. Other weeks include “Animal Kingdom”, “Planet Art,” “Ocean Arts,” “Summer in the City” and “Pirates.”
The Black Box Theatre will offer 3 two week camps, each culminating a full scale production for families and friends to enjoy. The Artists’ Exchange will bring back its overwhelmingly popular Rock ‘n’ Roll camp, now in its third year. Modeled after “School of Rock,” this is a fun-filled camp designed to expose kids to the world of rock ‘n’ roll, culminating in a performance for friends and family. No experience is required.
The Artists’ Exchange is a nonprofit arts collaborative whose mission is to create an atmosphere in which creativity, learning, and discovery converge and individuality is celebrated. The Artists’ Exchange houses The Black Box Theatre and multiple art studios, as well as a gallery, art boutique and cafe. Join us for enriching classes and weekly events in art, theatre, music and film.
The Artists’ Exchange is owned and operated by Gateways to Change; a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for all human beings.

Description: Camp LAFF is a full-day childcare program offered Monday-Friday, 8:00-5:00 p.m. Campers will play sports, do arts & crafts, go on field trips, and do activities centered around weekly themes - all while supervised by our full-trained professional staff.

Coggeshall Farm Museum is a living historical farm set on 48 acres that have been cultivated by Europeans since the late 17th century, and probably for generations before that by the Pokanoket. The Museum’s c. 1790 farmhouse overlooks a salt marsh toward the north of Poppasquash point. Near to the farmhouse are a kitchen garden, pastures, a stone spring house and animal barns. Sheep, chickens and farm cats roam the grounds, while oxen, donkeys and a horse graze in the fields. The farm’s garden hosts a variety of early fruits and vegetables surrounded by an abundant border of herbs. Antique and reproduction tools - axes, saws, scythes are regularly in use around the farm.

Now celebrating its 8th year, Kid Filmmakers is the year-round traveling filmmaking academy for children, available year-round for after school, weekend and summer programs. Faculty members are experienced film industry professionals.
Summer Shoot 2009: Held at Kay Studios, 66 Valley Street in East Providence, RI on July 27-31, 9AM-4PM. An intensive full-day curriculum for ages 10-15, i.e. hands-on instruction in acting, animation, directing, editing, lighting and sound, makeup, screenwriting and set design. Crews produce a documentary about peace or ecology, Kid Filmmakers commercial, silent film and drama, comedy or musical.

URI Outreach Scientists are experienced science teachers and camp instructors who will introduce campers to the intriguing world of oceanography, taking them into the field each day to learn about RI diverse coastal environment.
Specifically designed for the 6-8th grade age group, action-packed activities will include thorough explorations of the barrier beaches, salt ponds, rocky shores, and salt marshes of Rhode Island. Plan on cruising aboard URI’s 51 foot research vessel Cap’n Bert, and investigating the mysterious and exciting life beneath Narragansett Bay using scientific instruments and equipment. The week long camp will wrap up with a special behind the scenes tour of Mystic Aquarium and Institute for Exploration.
