description: Community Boating Center (CBC) is a non-profit, 501c3 recreational organization offering all members of the community an opportunity to sail. Located in India Point Park, CBC provides outreach, sailing lessons and affordable access to the Providence waterfront. CBC offers two-week youth sailing camp sessions for summer starting end of June. Classes meet Monday through Friday from 9 am - 3:30 pm. description: Is Your Child Sleeping Enough?
We can help you find out! Sleep can affect your child’s behavior, mood, attention, and learning at school. Even your child’s health may be affected by how much they sleep. Researchers at the Miriam Hospital are conducting a research program for children 8-11 years old who sleep 9-10 hours each night to determine how changes in sleep affect hormones related to appetite and hunger as well as children’s daytime behaviors, including eating and activity habits. Children will be asked to come in for 3 visits over 3 weeks to assess sleep and daytime behaviors, and measure hormone levels. They will also be asked to increase and decrease how much they sleep. All families will learn how to improve their child’s sleep and will also be compensated for their time.
