description: LES PETITS FRANCAIS – Speaking French while Playing!
We are two French moms who wish to invite French-speaking families to join our social group to encourage their children to speak French. The mission of our group, Les Petits Français, is to help our children become fluent in French through play and social activities.
What follows is a list of some of the activities our group has, so far, scheduled:
- For children: Arts & crafts activities centered around various themes; cooking activities; visits to children’s museums and zoos; movies; celebration of Holidays, such as, Galette des Rois (Three Kings), Chandeleur (Candlemas), Mardi Gras; nature walk in regional parks.
- For adults: Movie nights, restaurant nights, theme nights, and “apéritifs” (Happy Hour).

Designed as a supportive community in which single parents can move to economic independence and families can thrive. Its relatively small size-22 apartments-facilitates close personal interactions. Its programs are planned to nurture families as they build skills. Child care and mentoring are available on site, and life skills management workshops, meetings and resource and referral services allow residents to explore their problems in depth and then move forward. A staff of 20 is employed to provide its services, including childcare and building security.

The Mothers Circle is a free educational and welcoming program empowering non-Jewish mothers to create Jewish homes. Mothers in all family constellations are welcome and participants do not have to be affiliated with a Jewish institution or have any prior knowledge. The interactive curriculum explores Jewish holidays, practices, rituals, and ethics while providing resources and tools for enriching Jewish family life at home. Free child care is available upon request.
