Attleboro Art Museum

The Attleboro Arts Museum involves audiences of all ages and backgrounds in the visual arts through diverse educational programs and engaging arts experiences. We work to support the creative and artistic development of both promising and professional artists. The Museum is a privately supported, non-profit arts institution whose core commitment to Arts for Everyone guides the Museum’s programs and operations.

Birthday Parties: Museum provides instruction and materials for a fun art project (such as puppets, mask making, jewelry boxes, painting) with family and friends at a party that includes a tour of the art gallery. Parties last 1 1/2 to 2 hours. The first hour is with the instructor and includes gallery tour and art project, and remaining time can be used for refreshments and opening gifts. Museum members $10 per child; nonmembers, $12; gift bags $2 per child. Refreshments and paper goods supplied by parents. Max. number of children is 15.

Classes: The W. Charles Thompson Museum School at the Attleboro Arts Museum offers a wide variety of two and three-dimensional art classes for adults, teens and children. A dedicated staff of teachers offers a supportive environment and encourages creative risk taking. Workshops and master classes are also offered for professional artists and art educators in the region.

A world of creativity and imagination opens up for your child at Newport Art Museum art camps and classes. Kids and teens can create crazy comic characters, artistically explore the wonder of horses and underwater worlds, make a photo T-shirt, or learn about digital photography in our IMac Lab. Campers can work together to create a group sculpture or a giant photo collage, or try painting, drawing, ceramics and mixed media. Serious teen photographers are encouraged to develop a digital portfolio. Week-long camps run during most school vacations. Part-day and full-day programs are offered. Ongoing exhibits appeal to kids of all ages. Free-for-all Saturdays (the last Saturday of the month during the school year) offer special activities for kids. Family Workshops on Sunday for kids and their parents require separate admission. Family workshops for children age 5 to 12 and their parents on alternating Sunday afternoons. Workshops relate art that is on exhibit in the museum to hands-on art techniques. Also, Artfull Thursdays, after-school classes that combine art appreciation with art creation for ages 4-12. Children ages 4-6 must be accompanied by a caregiver.

Warwick Museum of Art is the area’s largest cultural center since 1976. Located in the former Kentish Artillery (Armory), the museum completed an extensive renovation of their gallery in 2009 through a grant by the Champlin Foundation. The museum has monthly art exhibits, musical, theatrical and poetry nights as well as a Art Camps for children (during February and April vacations) as well as a seven week summer art camp for children age 6-12
