  1. Both of my kids attended ESNS and we loved our four years there. Carole & Susan have both been teaching there for about 20 years and it is a very simple, clean, loving environment.

This is a co-op, so it’s for parents who want to be involved & sometimes attend school as a helping parent. This is usually 3-5 times through the school year, and is easy & fun.

This is the school for you if you imagine your child playing with wooden blocks, sitting on a rug hearing stories, studying a rotting pumpkin, picking apples, and taking a RIPTA bus ride around the neighborhood, mambo dancing, a giant box with muffin pans to bang on, and a Harvest Feast featuring the world’s tastiest pickles.

  3. This school is great. My son loves it and I feel so good about sending him there every day.
I also love the co-op aspect. With that the parents get a chance to get to know other kids in the school as well as see what’s going on in the classroom. It’s really fun to be involved.

    I would highly recommend it.

  6. It is wonderful to see first hand what your child is doing in preschool and how s/he interacts with the teachers and the other children. Carole and Susan provide such a loving, warm, and supportive environment for the children. Could you ask for anything more in a preschool?

  7. We couldn’t be happier with East Side for our daughter - and look forward to two more years with our youngest here! The teachers are nurturing, talented and resourceful. The families and teachers at this school make it a safe and exciting place for children to start their education.

  8. I look forward to reveiwing the calendar to see what fun and exciting and different activities the kids will be exposed to each day. Will it be a visit from the Music Lady? A trip to the local pumpkin farm? A day where bread will be baked? Or, a day where they’ll paint with pine needles?

My son excitedly talks about the fun activites he did, who he played with, and what he ate for snack each day.

I wish the ESNS school went beyond preschool!

  10. My daughter is a student at ESNS and it has been the most amazing experience. The co-op environment of the school enriches our lives in many ways. I never expected to make such lasting friendship for her and with the other families. I am so happy we chose ESNS!

  11. This is the second year we have had our children at East Side Nursery School (ESNS) - and have three children in the school this year (a first apparently!). Each of my children is distinct - they socialize, learn and express themselves quite differently - and they each thrive at ESNS. It is an incredibly nurturing, gentle, engaging, guiding, exciting, creative, approachable, accessible and wonderful environment for my babes - fostered by both the teachers and the affiliated families - both current and past. They are learning how to make friends and be caring friends by discovering and learning much about the world in their classroom and beyond.

  12. We are now on our third child attending ESNS and it has been a wonderful experience! The co-op aspect of the preschool really brings the parents, teachers and children together into a community. The teachers foster a very positive and nurturing environment for learning and socializing. The art projects, science table and other activities are so engaging and age appropriate that it really speaks to the teachers experience and expertise. The children feel very comfortable and secure. The teachers are very good at communicating with and involving parents. They are incredibly committed to early childhood education and the school itself.

  13. Our son has loved this nursery school! After his first time as a 3-year old, we knew we had to sign him for the next year. He’s a learned a lot about interacting with others and has made some great friends. This is definitely worth the time and investment!

  14. This is a wonderful pre-school! I sent both my children here and could not have been happier. The teachers are so engaged with the children and get to know and respond to them as individuals. The classroom is inviting and warm, with areas changing during the year to continually spark interest. The curriculum in this play-based school is centered gently on the rhythm of the seasons. I really wish they had Kindergarten too - my children never want to leave!

  17. Our younger daughter is finishing her second year at East Side Nursery School. She feels safe and challenged and has great learning experiences. Our older twins went there, also. We have been very happy with Carole and Michelle (Susan retired); they are excellent teachers. The co-op aspect is great; we get to spend time in the classroom several times during the year and we have made many friends along the way. I cannot say enough good things about the school.
