Rogers Free Library is offering safe curbside pick up

Rogers Free Library will provide safe, contactless curbside book pickup, by appointment only, on Wednesdays and Fridays. The book pickups support Gina Raimondo’s Statewide Reading Challenge and are designed to make books available to students in grades K-12. The service began on Wednesday April 29 and it will continue as needed.

To request materials (limit 3 items), library users can call Rogers Free Library at (401)253-6948 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays. Library users should have their library card number ready when they call. If people need a library card, they can go to https://www.oslri.org/application to apply for a temporary digital library card which will be replaced with a physical card when the public libraries reopen.

The library will call the user to set up an appointment for pickup. Pick up appointments are from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays on the porch of the old building on Hope St.

Upon arrival at the front of the building at the time of the appointment, please go to the porch of the old building to pick up the bag of books with the user’s name on it. Please send one family member representative to the door if possible, to limit the number of people near the library building. Please maintain the recommended safe distance between people during the Covid-19 outbreak as recommended by the RI Department of Health.

Once issued, no book returns will be accepted: people are requested to keep books and other library materials until the library reopens. Due dates on all materials at all Rhode Island libraries in the Ocean State Library system have been extended statewide.

The library building remains closed to all visitors. The library staff cannot accommodate unplanned visits.
