While the Swim fundraiser will look a bit different this year due to the many continuing federal and state-level COVID-19 restrictions, Save The Bay is excited to announce that they will be holding both a scaled-down, cross-Bay Swim in-person on July 17, as well as the Virtual Swim and Open over the course of the summer.
Registration opens on April 15 and, when you register, you will be signing up to participate in the virtual Swim with the option to be entered into a lottery for a spot at the in-person event.
For those participating in the Virtual Swim and Open, you can once again look forward to taking your pick from numerous challenges, including the 2.0-mile long swim, the 0.5-mile short swim, a 5K run or walk, a 25-mile ride, a 5K row, a 5.0-mile kayak or a 2.0-mile standup paddleboard! Those who win a spot at the July 17 event will tackle the 2.0-mile open water swim from Newport to Jamestown, R.I.
No matter how you choose to participate, use #SaveTheBaySwim or #SaveTheBayOpen to share your remote training with Save The Bay, and keep an eye on our Facebook, Instagram or Twitter feeds to see if your update has been featured!
