Steve Jobs: 1955-2011

Today I remember Steve Jobs and his immense influence on my life, my work and my family. I went to college with a typewriter and left using a Mac Classic. Apple has been part of my world ever since; as an artist, designer and a business owner. Every part of Kidoinfo is created on a Mac. I listen to music, take photos, make movies, connect with and organize my world using my Apple laptop and my iPhone. Over the years, I watched how Steve repeatedly imagined things and created products that influenced others and changed our lives forever. My kids do not know a world without computers, iphones and music players. And as a family we have watched and enjoyed many Pixar films. My whole family will miss him and we offer our heartfelt sympathy to his wife, Laurene, his four children, and all of his family and friends.

Steve Jobs gave the 2005 Stanford Commencement speech. His advice and words of inspiration are worth hearing again. Dream big, think outside the box, do what matters, and do our best, always.

On September 1, 2011 Asha Dornfest of ParentHacks wrote Parenting Lessons From Steve Jobs after he stepped down from Apple. In it, she shared some of the insights she gained after watching this speech.
