Write Rhode Island: The Short Story: Students in grades 7-12 learn all the fundamentals of page-turner short story writing: character development, setting, plot, point of view, voice, and dialogue.
Runs Tuesdays, 3:30-5 pm, from October 1-22, 2019. Takes place at School One, 220 University Avenue in Providence

For adults
Creative Nonfiction: All About Mother is a five-week class that introduces writers to memoir and nonfiction. The theme of this class will be mothers/motherhood in all its form.
This small group meets weekly and will focus on writing about their own experiences and memories, discuss one another’s work and receive feedback. Bring your new ideas or your work-in-progress, we will read examples of memoir, write, and share work.
Workshop Dates: 3:30 – 5 pm, Tuesdays, October 22 – December 3, 2019. This class meets at School One, 220 University Avenue Providence RI 02906.
Workshop fee: $125 (scholarships available). Contact Diana Champa at 401-331-2497 about scholarships. Students can make payments directly to School One by calling Champa at the main office, 331-2497. Students also can bring a check to the first class, checks should be made out to School One.
