After a year in business, the Warren Art Spot is still going strong. The doors opened in the Fall of 2009 and since then the Art Spot has been offering a variety of classes, workshops, open studios and camps for kids. Word of mouth has been spreading and the Art Spot is attracting kids from all over the East Bay and Greater Providence. In addition to its bright, welcoming interior, the Art Spot is staffed with highly qualified, wonderful teachers–Hilary Treadwell (lilhop.com), Lauren Enjeti (enjetidesigns.com), Jorge Paricio and co-director, Jim Bush (jimbushart.com).
The Art Spot’s current schedule includes the Superheroes vs. Villains Cartooning Class and Introduction to Watercolor Painting. Additional offerings include two classes for adults–Drawing for Anyone and Architectural Watercolor. The monthly Open Studio Saturdays and ever-popular Presidents’ Day Vacation Week Workshops round out the current program. Check the website www.warrenartspot.com for details.
This year the Warren Art Spot is partnering with the Providence Children’s Film Festival. On February 12th and 13th, the weekend prior to the festival, the Art Spot will host two Learn to Write a Movie Workshops for kids ages 8-14. And, during the Presidents’ Day Vacation Week there will be a DIY Flipbook workshop for younger kids, ages 5 and up. Children who register for one of these workshops will receive a free ticket to a movie screening during the Providence Childrens’ Film Festival Weekend.
If you haven’t stopped by yet, check it out. Perfect spot to get creative during the long snowy winter!
