Education Commissioner Angélica Infante-Green and Governor Gina M. Raimondo will be holding weekly online forums about reopening schools. The forums will take place on Thursdays at 3 pm. on the Governor’s Facebook page.

It includes a discussion with two Rhode Island pediatricians: Dr. Jim McDonald from the Department of Health, and Dr. Elizabeth Lange, the former President of the RI Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. They had a wide ranging discussion about the ways in which the virus impacts young people, the impacts of in-person learning on students’ development, the importance of social, mental, physical, and nutritional health.
“I know people are scared, and there’s a lot of misinformation out there. As we’ve done all along, we’re going to be open and transparent, share our thinking with you every day, and rely on the advice of experts. Our COVID-19 response can only work if we all work together, so I want you to hear the same advice I’m hearing at every step of the process.” the Governor said in a press release about the education forums.
