You can check out WHO at The Library?! Modeled on the newest concept in library services – borrowing people with your library card – the raffle at The Great Checkout will allow library supporters to “check out” real life experiences with well-known Rhode Island entertainers, scientists, elected officials, historians, artists, and other fascinating people. It’s an easy and fun way to learn – with a Living Book!

Living Books include Mayor Taveras, Seven Stars master baker Jim Williams, RISD Museum director John Smith, and Grammy Award winning musician Bill Harley, as well as experts in astronomy, genealogy, mixology, fashion, architecture and more. You can even tour the river with the Providence Police Department Harbor Patrol, get a private tour of McCoy Stadium before a PawSox game, and see behind the scenes of the RISD Museum.

All proceeds from The Great Checkout, will go towards the expansion of PCL’s educational and cultural programming for youths and adults, in English and Spanish, at all nine libraries.

Raffle tickets are $25 and available online now. Gala tickets are $75-$125.
