The Grinch will be making a special appearance at our store on Saturday, November 24th as part of our Shop Small Saturday celebration. Kids and adults can meet and get their picture taken with the Grinch.

Explore Victorian Christmas traditions. Create candy-filled Christmas crackers to delight your guests and make decorations for your own tree.
Listen to a Christmas story, and enjoy a classic holiday treat of milk and cookies. During the celebration, you can also take a holiday-themed tour of Lippitt House Museum.

Amazing Engineers invent things that amaze us in the moment. Think jaw-dropping space launch. But many of us take for granted much in this engineered world that is everyday amazing, like clean drinking water at the turn of a faucet. The annual Society of Women Engineers event will celebrate engineers and how they improve our lives through hands on experiences. The need for the next generation of practical inventors and innovators continues. Who will step up? Recommended for ages 6 and up.

Tomaquag Museum’s annual Cranberry Thanksgiving Celebration is a fun event for the whole family! We honor the cranberry season with a cultural celebration including traditional Native music, dance, games, native vendors, tours of the museum and more. “Oh, what fun it is to ride”… Come enjoy some old-fashioned holiday fun at Blithewold on a horse-drawn carriage ride. A bow- and garland-festooned carriage holding up to 8 people will take a trip down our wooded Lover’s Lane, then cross Blithewold’s Great Lawn. Families will be photographed in the sleigh before the ride begins. The photos can be used for holiday greeting cards or to frame and cherish for years to come! Allan Millora Photography will provide each family with a digital image to keep, or offer your choice of a selected photo package.
During Christmas at Blithewold, join us for a traditional holiday story time to celebrate the season! Drop-in for one story time or come to both! After the story, join us for a cookie and a nature-inspired children’s craft.
