Be a champion for Narragansett Bay with Save the Bay

Save the Bay is an important Rhode Island non-profit helping to keep Narragansett Bay clean and usable to citizens. Today Kidoinfo features Save the Bay as an organization to consider supporting.

Save The Bay has not been spared the economic challenges of the past year. Pandemic-related restrictions affected our revenues by limiting our programs and events – but we have stayed the course. We are pleased to report that, even during this most challenging year, continued member support allowed us to:

CHAMPION a $74 million environmental bond referendum in Rhode Island that will provide urgently needed funds for clean water infrastructure, forest and farmland conservation, municipal resilience projects and more.

ORGANIZE 600 volunteers who installed 3,217 storm drain markers and collected 4,038 pounds of trash from Rhode Island shores.

CONNECT with students with our Breakfast by The Bay livestream series and the 38 different virtual school programs we developed for our school partners.

INVEST in our facilities by constructing a new education vessel and replacing an aging HVAC system, installing videoconferencing technology, and re-surfacing paths and parking areas at our Fields Point Bay Center.

ADVOCATE for stricter wetlands protections in the Narragansett Bay watershed and protect valuable wetlands from the damaging impacts of a development proposal.

IMPROVE public parking at rights-of-way in Narragansett and, in partnership with the South Providence Neighborhood Association and the Washington Park Improvement Association, persuade the City of Providence to seek a new public right-of-way at Public Street.
